About the Program

New Life Center CHR's New Life Center is a Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program designed to accommodate women with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders who have infants, toddlers under the age of 4yo and/or expectant mothers. Children reside in the facility with their Mothers in order to promote a healthy parental bond with the focus of developing effective parenting skills. Estimated length of stay is 4-6 months with the goal of preparing for a healthy and safe substance free lifestyle. DCF involved Mothers welcomed. Mothers and infants receive medical care at Day Kimball Hospital.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains physical environment and program standards set by funders, accreditors, and agency policies.
  • Maintain self-administration of client medications in accordance with the agency medication policies and procedure as program may require.
  • Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to effectively collaborate with co-workers and clients.
  • Teaches and assists all residents in areas of developmentally appropriate activities of daily living.
  • Affords assistance/management of administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
  • Presents and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one intervention as directed by the treatment plan.
  • Collaborates and coordinates care with providers and families as needed.
  • Affords assistance/resolves medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
  • Participates in staff meetings, supervision.

Qualifications

  • Education: High diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Two years’ experience working with a relevant population preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.
