Responsibilities
- Accurately document the entry and exit of all families, staff, and visitors; complete daily census forms, incident reports, and maintain detailed event logs.
- Cook up coordinate resident admissions and discharges in accordance with program procedures.
- Prepare and submit nightly rosters; maintain and file all shift-related documentation.
- Provide courteous and professional greetings to all visitors and callers, representing the organization in a welcoming manner.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions to support audit readiness and compliance.
- Collaborate with case management staff to address client needs, share pertinent information, and support individualized programming.
- Monitor and prevent loitering in and around the facility in coordination with security personnel.
- Assist in conducting fire drills and emergency evacuations as required.
- Support custodial and security teams in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of the facility.
- Distribute incoming mail and packages to resident families in a timely and organized manner.
- Assist in food distribution processes, including receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Conduct regular room inspections to ensure compliance with program policies and standards.
- Manage inventory of supplies, ensuring accurate tracking and adherence to program guidelines.
- Carry out all additional program-related tasks as directed by site and organizational leadership.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered.
- One to two years of experience in housing, shelter programs, or related services is preferred.
- Direct client service experience is required.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Strong background in customer service, with a focus on empathy and responsiveness.
- Prior proven problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically in challenging situations.
- Highly organized with excellent verbal communication skills; able to work effectively and collaboratively with families.
- Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and take accountability for timely completion of tasks.
- Cultural sensitivity and an understanding of the socio-economic factors impacting the populations served.
- Capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and effectively de-escalate conflicts with both clients and team members.
- Relevant experience may include roles such as Residential Assistant at City Refuge, Housing Support Staff at Civic Sanctuary, or Residence Attendant at Metropolitan Safehouse.
Pay & Benefits
Estimated Starting Salary Range for City Sanctuary Facility Residential Aide: $19.23/hour. Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
