About the role

Cost Center 654 Psychology Interns and Fellows are scheduled weekly hours of 40. Work Shift is First Shift (United States of America).

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Participates in the interviewing of patients and assessing them through mental status and/or psychometric testing, as well as reviewing records obtained from other patient care staff.
  • Selects appropriate therapies or treatments for the patients based on the scientific knowledge of human learning and behavior.
  • Consults with other treatment team members in planning treatment programs for patients.
  • Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions.
  • Ensures that medical record documentation protocols are complied with.
  • Ensures that patients’ progress notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational and departmental procedures.
  • Participates regularly in departmental and staff meetings.
  • Serves on programs or organizational committees as required and as time and workload allow.
  • Maintains licensure requirements.
  • Buils knowledge of current trends and developments in treatment and counseling through the use of appropriate professional literature, medical workshops and publications; as well as fulfills continuing education requirements as per PRCMHS credentialing policies.
  • Provides consultation to professionals, hospitals, organizations, or agencies outside of Pine Rest.
  • May write behavior management plans for patients as part of consultation.

Responsible for upholding the highest quality care, keeping with all standards and bylaws set by government agencies as well as Pine Rest.

Requirements

  • Current state license or degree from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association.
  • Holds a Temporary Limited License or Limited License in Psychology in Michigan.
