Resident Program Assistant
About the role
The Resident Program Assistant implements multi-faceted Resident Programs as scheduled or assigned by the Resident Program Specialist to ensure the programs meet the functional needs and reflect the interests of each resident at Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community. Works in groups or one-on-one with the residents to support the wide variety of resident activities on a daily basis. Actively participates in the resident dining experience.

Responsibilities
- Conducts program activities that meet the social, religious, physical, vocational, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents.
- Fosters a positive and inclusive Assisted Living Community environment by encouraging resident participation, facilitating social interactions, and promoting a welcoming atmosphere.
- Builds strong bonds with residents and families.
- Serves in the dining room and assists with special events.
- Maintains organization of supplies.
- Completes all documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal policies.
- Provides exceptional customer service to residents and families.
- Attends various in-service education opportunities and participates in staff training.
- Works hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/department, including flexibility for special events and rotating weekend/holiday requirements.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) year of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, work, and experience will be considered.
- Previous experience working with elderly individuals.
- Must be fluent in English and comfortable speaking in groups of people.
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred.
