Resident Operations Director (2026-2027)

About the Role

Zeta is expanding its network of elementary and middle schools across the Bronx, Upper Manhattan, and Queens, opening 1–2 new schools each year. As part of this growth, we are preparing to launch our first-ever Zeta High School class of 9th graders in the 2026-27 school year. The Resident Operations Director program is a 6-12 month, full-time opportunity designed to prepare you to become an Operations Director at a Zeta school.

As a Resident Operations Director, you will be placed at an existing Zeta school and serve as a full-time member of the school's operations team. You will engage in operations work at the host school and tackle a variety of school-specific and Zeta-wide operations projects while developing the skills and mindset needed to excel as an Operations Director.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a full-time member of the school's operations team, contributing to daily operations and long-term projects.
• Develop systems to ensure a world-class facility that meets Zeta’s high expectations while creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families.
• Engage in both short-term and long-term planning to optimize operational systems, using data to shape school processes.
• Collaborate with the school leadership team to align operations with Zeta’s mission of high academic achievement and social-emotional development.
• Participate in operations projects that support Zeta-wide initiatives and school-specific needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of work experience.
• Proven project management abilities and a relentlessly high bar for excellence.

Pay

The salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $92,500. New hires can expect to be brought into the organization at a salary at or near the start of the range, depending on relevant experience in operations and internal equity. Resident Operations Directors who start immediately are eligible for a $5,000 signing bonus. Zeta also offers a relocation reimbursement of up to $2,500 for eligible staff.
