Resident/Medication Aide (Full-Time) - Assisted and Enhanced Assisted Living

Full-time (40 hrs/wk) with consistent schedule; every other weekend and holiday shifts required (24/7/365 operation). Shifts available:

• Days: 6:45a–3:15p
• Evenings: 2:45p–11:15p
• Overnights: 10:45p–7:15a

About the role

Join Longview in Ithaca, NY—a nonprofit serving older adults for over 50 years through adult day services, independent, assisted, and enhanced assisted living. As a Resident Aide, you’ll support residents’ safety, comfort, and well-being while collaborating with a healthcare team and fostering relationships with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily personal care, including bathing, dressing, incontinent care, laundry, and activities of daily living as outlined in resident service plans.
• Encourage resident participation in social and recreational activities.
• Document resident care notes and assist residents to/from the dining room.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, high-quality care.
• Respond promptly to call bells and complete safety rounds.
• Monitor and support residents’ physical and emotional well-being.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Aide (PCA) experience highly preferred; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) experience considered but not required.
• One year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Experience with older adults preferred.
• Willingness to complete medication assistance training preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and empathetically with residents, families, coworkers, and medical professionals.
• Physical ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; stand for long periods; and frequently bend, stoop, and reach.
• Satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical, including a tuberculin skin test or blood assay.

Pay
