Medication Assistant - Assisted Living, Full Time

About the role

The primary responsibility of a Medication Assistant at Spectrum Retirement Communities is to maintain, order, and assist residents with their medication needs. This includes transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record, providing support with activities of daily living, taking vital signs, administering first aid, managing wound care, and communicating with external healthcare providers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs
• Transcribe and document in the Medication Assistance Record
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living
• Take vital signs and provide first aid and wound care as necessary
• Communicate with outside health care professionals as needed
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful demeanor is appreciated.

Pay

Compensation is USD 18.25 - USD 19.75 per hour.

Schedule

The schedule is full-time, with all shifts available and weekend availability required.
