About the role
Are you an experienced industrial maintenance professional looking to work with some of the most advanced automation technology in the world? DigiKey is seeking a Resident Maintenance Technician to support one of the largest KNAPP automated fulfillment systems globally at our Barzen distribution facility.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair automated conveyor and fulfillment systems
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, including PLC-related equipment concerns
- Maintain and optimize automated storage and retrieval systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment
- Support continuous improvement and uptime initiatives
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to deliver world-class performance
- Train team members and document maintenance activities
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance, machine repair, maintenance electrician, or similar experience
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Experience reading electrical schematics and assembly drawings
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, VFDs, and automated equipment
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred
