About the role
Join our team as a Resident Hair Specialist and help enrich the lives of seniors through compassionate, personalized care.
Responsibilities
- Provide thorough consultations, haircuts, styling, chemical treatments, and related services tailored for senior residents.
- Offer gentle, patient care, always considering mobility, comfort, and individual needs.
- Educate residents on age-appropriate hair care and maintenance practices.
- Stay up to date on classic and current hair techniques that cater to mature hair, including perms, roller sets, and teasing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary salon space in compliance with health standards and State Board Guidelines.
- Build meaningful relationships while maintaining a warm, professional presence within the community.
Requirements
- Current Cosmetology License (required).
- Minimum of 3 years’ licensed experience in cosmetology.
- Experience working with senior clientele is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in haircutting, styling, and chemical services.
- Strong attention to detail and sanitation practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a caring, empathetic demeanor.
- A genuine desire to uplift others through service and connection.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of basic salon equipment and procedures.

Additional Information
- A Sign-on Bonus is available for this role.
- The Employee will be eligible to receive a total sign-on bonus of $1,000, to be paid in installments as follows:
- 25% ($250) after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period. To qualify, the Employee must:
- Complete the required CARES certification (if applicable),
- Demonstrate successful adherence to RSS paperwork protocols, and
- Effectively utilize RSS systems.
- 25% ($250) after completion of 6 months of employment with RSS. The Employee must be in good standing and have adhered to all RSS policies and protocols.
- 50% ($500) after completion of 1 year of employment with RSS. The Employee must remain in good standing and continue to meet all RSS performance expectations, policies, and protocols.
- If the Employee is not in good standing, voluntarily resigns, or is terminated prior to completing one year of employment, RSS reserves the right to withhold unpaid bonus installments.
