About the role
AECOM are seeking a highly motivated Resident Engineer (Water) with a proven track record in the Construction Engineering and Management industry. Based in Chicago, IL, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful water infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction, mentoring staff, and ensuring project success through effective supervision of field activities.
- Maintain client relationships and adhere to budget and schedule requirements.
- Lead and supervise a consultant team contributing to rewarding water distribution construction projects.
- Project Delivery and Leadership: Responsible for the safe, on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery of projects. Provide day-to-day leadership and delivery from Pre-Construction through closeout.
- Contract Compliance and Documentation: Verify and document overall contract compliance, interpret project drawings and specifications, and provide recommendations to the client.
- Aid in coordinating contractors' work activities, chair internal and external project meetings, and actively participate in the contractor's invoice review process.
- Actively communicate project status to clients and stakeholders.
- Closeout and Reporting: Assist in project closeout activities, including processing documentation, warranties, O&Ms, punch lists, and final change management and invoicing documentation.
- Develop and maintain logs, reports, or other documentation for project reporting.
- Quality Assurance and Client Interaction: Interact with construction contractors in performing Quality Assurance inspections. Support client interaction and coordination between internal and external project stakeholders.
- Mitigating and Resolving Construction Issues: Take pride in preventing delays or rework by proactively identifying and addressing issues. Provide solutions to meet client expectations.
Qualifications
- BA/BS +6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Driver License required
- Water Distribution Construction Experience
- OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 Certificates
- 6 + Years of Relevant Experience
- Professional Engineer License
