Resident Engineer
Responsibilities
- Provide construction supervision of inspection services and oversight for roadway and bridge assignments.
- Lead and conduct progress meetings
- Manage direct reports including Inspectors and Office Engineer
- Ensure contractor’s work meets compliance with plans, specifications, codes, and safety standards (including MUTCD implementation).
- Coordinate with public agencies, contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Manage daily logs, submittals, change orders, estimates, invoices
- Monitor schedule, cost, and quality, utilizing CAPEX & SiteManager
- Serve as a technical resource and problem solver in the field and office
- Assisting Office Engineer as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or active NICET IV certification required
- 5+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer on infrastructure projects for NJDOT or NJTA
- 10+ years of total construction inspection experience in NJDOT and/or NJTA projects including highways and bridges.
- CAPEX and Site Manager experience required
- NJSAT, Rutgers TCP, ACI-I & ACI CCTC, and OSHA certifications preferred
- Excellent communication skills and work ethic
- A demonstrated ability to manage infrastructure construction projects and project teams
- 17 PTO Days per year, with an additional PTO day for every year after five years.

Qualifications & Skills
Pay
Expected salary range is $130,000-$195,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
