Resident Engineer

About the role

Join our Water US, Construction Management Division as a Resident Engineer and work with us to close the gap to a sustainable future. In this role, you will engage in various levels of complexity construction-related projects, applying standard construction techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will collaborate, make evaluations, and exercise independent judgment to adapt and modify designs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering concepts of a project using knowledge acquired from an engineering or construction management degree.
• Oversee construction personnel to ensure procedures, methods, and materials comply with contract documents.
• Direct Construction Superintendents, Project Managers, Foremen, and others to ensure compliance with contract documents throughout the project duration.
• Ensure technical components of a project meet engineering requirements specified in contract documents.
• Perform engineering calculations to determine requirements such as pump performance, mechanics of concrete, pipeline hydraulics, and electrical adequacy.
• Prepare cash flow calculations from a critical path schedule and schedule of values to help the project owner budget total project costs and monitor contractor progress and scheduled completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology, or
• Associate’s degree or technical school certification in science, math, architecture, computing, technical drafting, or other relevant technical curriculum, plus 4+ years of qualifying engineering experience in the engineering/design field.
• Ability to make decisions affecting the cost and performance of the work.

Skills

• CCM, USACE CQM, CCCA, NICET certifications.

About the team

You will be part of the Water US, Construction Management Division, focusing on supporting the delivery of Ramboll’s municipal water construction projects. This position supports work in three major areas: Mid-Atlantic, New York City, and the Northeast. There are three levels of Resident Engineers based on experience and qualifications.

Pay

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $72,000 to $126,000 per year. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for bonus, overtime, or other forms of compensation.
