Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets to track monthly expenditures on project-by-project basis
- Conduct or direct the verification of construction quantities for contractor applications for payment
- Prepare staffing and cost estimates for new projects
- Conduct constructability reviews which may include roadway projects, sanitary and storm drainage projects, pump stations, generators, retaining walls, bridge replacements (including movable bridges), culverts
- Oversee or conduct construction tasks including bid reviews, contract award evaluations, verification of bond and insurance submittals, issuance of Notice to Proceed letters, construction and pre-construction meetings
- Ensure project QA/QC compliance efforts in accordance with strict adherence to QA/ QC and Safety practices & standards
- Provide leadership and direction by mentoring and motivating staff including training, performance feedback, technical guidance, client relations, financial management and brainstorming
- Chair preconstruction meetings and prepare meeting minutes for projects
- Gather GIS assets and prepare projects as-builts for close-out
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with minimum of 10+ years of experience demonstrating increased responsibility from Construction Inspector level responsibilities upward
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing is highly preferred but not required
- If experienced Candidate has an active NICET III or IV license with relevant experience and is in NJ, we welcome and value you to contact us!
- Proven experience delivering large construction projects as well as smaller construction projects
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a positive manner with clients, public officials and the general public
- Must be well versed in the understanding and implementation of the NJDOT and NJTA specifications, standards and details
- Valid Certifications including: NICET IV or PE (preferred but not required), ACI Field Concrete Testing, NJ Society of Asphalt Technician Certification (NJSAT), Rutgers TCP, ACI CCTC certific ations
