Purpose
The Resident Care Associate (RCA) serves as a key member of the team, providing comprehensive care and support to residents in the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. This role involves hands-on care, emotional support, and ensuring a safe, comfortable living environment.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in the development and updating of Personalized Service Plans (PSPs) and attends service plan review meetings with families as needed.
- Maintains the hydration schedule for residents and ensures it is followed during the shift.
- Completes resident meal attendance sheets and ensures all assigned residents have been accounted for if they have not dined in the dining room.
- Knows and complies with all resident rights and follows federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
- Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities as appropriate, checking assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, continence issues, and changes in condition.
- Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions, checking assigned resident rooms daily for cleanliness and taking appropriate action, especially in high-risk rooms.
- Completes all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for assigned residents according to their PSP.
- Responds promptly and immediately to security system and resident call bells, taking appropriate action, including resetting call bells.
Education/Experience/Licensure
- A high school education is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old to perform personal care aspects of the RCA position.
- Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing is preferred.
- Available to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours, accommodating peak service delivery days and times.
