Resident Care Associate

The Resident Care Associate reports directly to the Family Experience Director, Pearl Director, or the Assistant Family Experience Director.

About the role

The Resident Care Associate is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families in assisted living and Memory care neighborhoods. This role includes providing hands-on care, physical and emotional support as outlined in each resident’s Personalized Service Plan (PSP) while maintaining a safe, comfortable home-like environment. The Resident Care Associate demonstrates all elements of wellness and adheres to federal, state, and local standards and regulations, as well as Phoenix policies, to promote quality care and services.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and updates of Personalized Service Plans; attends service plan review meetings with families as requested.
• Follows and maintains the hydration schedule established for residents during the shift.
• Completes resident meal attendance sheets; ensures any resident who has not dined in the dining room is provided room service or accounted for.
• Knows and complies with all resident rights.
• Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities as appropriate.
• Checks assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, continence issues, and changes in condition.
• Uses proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
• Checks assigned resident rooms daily for general cleanliness and neatness; ensures high-risk rooms are double-checked.
• Assists with conducting laundry rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, for cleanliness and exposed hazardous chemicals; takes appropriate action (e.g., contacting housekeeping, personally cleaning, securing chemicals).
• Completes all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for assigned residents according to the resident’s Personalized Service Plan (PSP).
• Responds to security systems and resident call bells promptly and immediately; takes appropriate action, including resetting call bells.

Requirements

• High school education preferred and may be required by the state.
• Previous experience working with elders or disabled individuals preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the role.
• Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry, Dementia care, or Skilled Nursing preferred.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours, available during peak service delivery times.

Schedule

Monday–Friday; every other weekend required.
