Resident Care Aide (Assisted Living)

Responsibilities

• Assisting memory impaired residents to complete tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing while maintaining the residents’ dignity and promoting their independence
• Maintain and document proper records of care
• Immediately report changes in resident’s condition to the supervisor: evidence of illness, changes in behavior, personal care needs not being met, medication issues, residents’ whereabouts unknown, etc.
• Promote and encourage residents to participate in community activities

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant-CNA, Home Health Aide-HHA, or Personal Care Aide-PCA certification preferred or as required by law
• One year working in a care giving capacity preferred
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly required

Qualifications

Comprehensive knowledge of memory care principles and practices

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

$16.00 - $17.00 per hour, based on experience
