Responsibilities

  • Meditation Assistance/Administration per State regulations
  • Storing medication and taking to resident at the prescribed times.
  • Proper documentation of medication assistance.
  • Interacting with doctors’ offices and pharmacies to ensure proper and safe medication assistance.
  • Able to maintain focus on medication assistance while dealing with outside distractions.
  • Be aware and observe for any side effects of medications.
  • Maintain watchful oversight of residents.
  • Respond to and documentation of resident issues as they arise. (ie: falls, medical emergency, etc.)
  • Observe and interact with residents on a daily basis.
  • Interact with and keep famiies/sponsor informed of resident issues.
  • Be aware of resident whereabouts.
  • Interact with supportative agencies (ie: sitters, hospice, home health, etc.).
  • Participate in the formation of resident care plans, evaluation of cognitive status and ability to self-administer medications.
  • Aid residents with ADL’s as per resident need.
  • Bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
  • Maintain an awareness of each resident’s normal appearance, intervene, as appropriate, if a resident’s state of health appears to be in jeopardy.
  • Maintain apartment in sanitary and clutter-free condition.
  • Aid residents with transfers (ie: chair to bed, wheelchair to commode, etc.).
  • Aid with resident laundry.
  • Aid in dining room to serve meals.
  • Aid resident with any needs that may arise, ie: apartment cleanliness, thermostat, tv, light bulbs, toilets, phone calls, etc.
  • Maintain State Readiness.
  • Ensure that required education is met each year.
  • Maintain resident files.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School graduation or equivalent with CNA certification in the state of Georgia.
  • Required or Equivalent with CNA certification in the state of Georgia.
  • Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years experience preferred in a similar setting with older adults.
  • Preferred and Experience: With medication assistance/administration.
  • Required Minimum Skills: Good customer service and communication skills required; demonstrates courteous and positive attitude; must be able to read and write; ability to relate well with teammates, healthcare professionals, residents, and families. Basic computer skills with Windows based environment for participation in training and resident documentation. Current skills in medication assistance/administration or willingness to learn.
