Responsibilities
- Meditation Assistance/Administration per State regulations
- Storing medication and taking to resident at the prescribed times.
- Proper documentation of medication assistance.
- Interacting with doctors’ offices and pharmacies to ensure proper and safe medication assistance.
- Able to maintain focus on medication assistance while dealing with outside distractions.
- Be aware and observe for any side effects of medications.
- Maintain watchful oversight of residents.
- Respond to and documentation of resident issues as they arise. (ie: falls, medical emergency, etc.)
- Observe and interact with residents on a daily basis.
- Interact with and keep famiies/sponsor informed of resident issues.
- Be aware of resident whereabouts.
- Interact with supportative agencies (ie: sitters, hospice, home health, etc.).
- Participate in the formation of resident care plans, evaluation of cognitive status and ability to self-administer medications.
- Aid residents with ADL’s as per resident need.
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
- Maintain an awareness of each resident’s normal appearance, intervene, as appropriate, if a resident’s state of health appears to be in jeopardy.
- Maintain apartment in sanitary and clutter-free condition.
- Aid residents with transfers (ie: chair to bed, wheelchair to commode, etc.).
- Aid with resident laundry.
- Aid in dining room to serve meals.
- Aid resident with any needs that may arise, ie: apartment cleanliness, thermostat, tv, light bulbs, toilets, phone calls, etc.
- Maintain State Readiness.
- Ensure that required education is met each year.
- Maintain resident files.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School graduation or equivalent with CNA certification in the state of Georgia.
- Required or Equivalent with CNA certification in the state of Georgia.
- Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years experience preferred in a similar setting with older adults.
- Preferred and Experience: With medication assistance/administration.
- Required Minimum Skills: Good customer service and communication skills required; demonstrates courteous and positive attitude; must be able to read and write; ability to relate well with teammates, healthcare professionals, residents, and families. Basic computer skills with Windows based environment for participation in training and resident documentation. Current skills in medication assistance/administration or willingness to learn.
