About the role
Ilima at Leihano senior living in Kapolei seeks caregivers who can help residents with activities of daily living while fostering independence and enhancing well-being.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' well-being and report any changes to the appropriate associate/departments immediately
- Assist residents with simple requests or find associates to assist
- Learn resident preferences for exemplary customer service and resident satisfaction
- Supervise or assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, ambulation, and other activities of daily living
- Provide companionship and develop strong resident relations
- Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures
- Help residents with assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc.)
- Encourage self-care of residents and document care provided
- Support resident-centered wellness programs and resolve resident questions
- Support open and honest communication with and between all associates
- Assist with resident laundry as assigned
- Support the general upkeep of community common areas
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
- Bring a smile to work every day
- Be a great team player
- High school education or GED equivalent preferred
- Nursing assistant course recommended
- Must meet State training requirements and/or certifications
- Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) is desirable
- Basic competency in the use of multiple forms of technology, including: Microsoft Office applications, internet-based and custom applications
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
Qualifications
- First Aid certification and CPR, if required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

Pay
$16.25/hour, with a $2/hr differential for CNA Certified and $2/hr differential for overnight shifts.
Schedule
A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
