About the role

As a full-time Resident Admissions Counselor with Liberty University’s Enrollment Team, you’ll work with a thriving community of residential students in Lynchburg, Virginia. You’ll recruit and encourage prospective students through meaningful phone conversations, guiding them as they prepare for a rewarding academic journey. Resident Admissions Counselors also play a key role in facilitating student engagement during on-campus recruitment events.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Effectively handle incoming and outgoing phone communication with prospective students by utilizing Cisco, Dialer, and other agent tools.
  • Take new applications for prospective students by following a department call-flow and promoting the University’s degree programs.
  • Take Enrollment Deposits for prospective students by following a department call-flow.
  • Convert prospective students from an application to admission decision by following a department call-flow and promoting the University’s degree programs.
  • Guide students through Financial Check-in to secure their first enrollment to Liberty University by following a department call-flow.
  • Aid students in the selection of classes based on the student’s intended degree program.
  • Counsel students on enrollment steps up to matriculation, financial aid processes, transfer guidelines, and other related concerns.
  • Promote the features and benefits of all undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs as well as the added value of an on-campus education.
  • Answer questions of a complex nature regarding the University’s admissions policies.
  • Develop relationships and coordinate with support offices to solve student problems and address student concerns.
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment events.
  • Find new and innovative ways to become more effective and efficient in new student services.
  • Implement daily and weekly feedback from the Management Team on areas to improve.
  • Meet or exceed departmental key performance indicators.

Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies

  • A high school diploma and customer service/sales experience are required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must live within a 30-minute commute of Liberty University’s campus.
  • Must be able to work first/second shift hours, rotate Saturdays, and occasionally work overtime.
  • A bachelor's degree and previous contact center experience are preferred.
  • Ability to help students overcome obstacles preventing their initial enrollment and ultimate completion of a degree.
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds.
