About the role

The Residency Program Pharmacy Supervisor 2 oversees the day-to-day operations and educational aspects of the pharmacy residency program. They provide authoritative guidance, develop specialized education classes, and investigate new drugs in their field. Additionally, they lecture to other medical professionals and publish in medical journals.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pharmacy residents and ensure compliance with residency program guidelines
  • Develop and implement drug utilization programs for inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Provide authoritative guidance and oversight in pharmacotherapy
  • Attend to complex or unusual cases and develop specialized education classes
  • Conduct clinical investigations of new drugs in the specialty
  • Assume immediate responsibility for the clinical investigation of new drugs in the specialty
  • Undertake tasks and projects to improve therapeutic and financial outcomes
  • Lecture twice per year to other medical professionals
  • Publish in a medical journal at least once every three years
  • May be a co-principal investigator on patient clinical research or an investigator on Pharmacy practice research

Requirements

Minimum four years of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist, or two years experience & a Residency preferred. Current BLS or ACLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience (more than 2 years) developing and implementing drug utilization programs for both inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Registered Pharmacist
