Residence Hall Director
About the role
The Residence Hall Director (RHD) at Farmingdale State College is responsible for facilitating a safe, comfortable, fun, inclusive, and positive community within the residence halls to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
Responsibilities
- Train and supervise student staff
- Coordinate programming and community development
- Manage discipline issues
- Assist with summer conference housing
- Serve on departmental committees and special assignments
- Participate in college functions and committees
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree awarded by July 2026
- Experience in Residence Life or a related field
- Strong organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- At least one year of experience in Residence Life
- Experience with planning programs
- Experience with student discipline and/or conflict resolution
- Experience with assessment tools
- Experience with tools such as Adobe Illustrator

Pay
$51,261 + $4,000 in downstate location pay = $55,261 Total Compensation.
Schedule
The position is a 12 month, full-time, live-in position. The Residence Hall Director serves on a Residence Life duty rotation and must be available to work occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
