Residence Counselor - Crisis
Responsibilities
Supervise, engage and support adult consumers in a residential setting (transitional, crisis, and/or supported housing).
Provide direct care, assisting clients with all activities of daily living, as needed using direction, modeling, and prompting.
Provide education (appropriate to client), prompting and support to client and/or family designed to resolve crisis, and decrease barriers for more independent living.
Assist in developing and facilitating service planning to promote further independence and community integration.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation or a related field.
- Experience: High School Graduates with additional specific experience will be considered on a case by case basis. High School Diploma – four (4) years full time experience with related work or life experience. Associate’s Degree- two (2) years full time experience with related work or life experience.
- Basic understanding of working with adults with a serious mental illness.
- Valid New Jersey Driver’s License.
Pay
A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $17.17 to $21.14. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
