Residence Aide Day Shift

About the role

The Residence Aide, under the direction of the Residence Director, assists with activities of daily living, provides support and care to foster independence and individuality, assists with meal service, cleaning, laundry and social activities, and interacts with residents and visitors in a helpful and courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal hygiene, including dressing, bathing, toileting, oral care, hair and skin care
• Transfer residents to seat, bed, wheelchair, or walker
• Provide medication reminders
• Assist with social activities and events
• Assist with meal service
• Record and report changes in the client’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to supervisor
• Assist with meal service, cleaning, laundry and social activities

Requirements

• Professional: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; at least one year of experience in a caregiving role preferred.
• Personal: Responsibility, dependability, good judgment, empathy; effective communication skills with team members, residents, and family members; ability to adapt to fluctuating situations; ability to accept supervision and follow instructions independently; diplomacy and ability to get along with others.
• Physical job: Must be able to access entire Kenton Pointe campus and off‑site locations independently, help residents at any location, and respond rapidly in an emergency; demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and observe universal precautions; able to lift at least 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.

Schedule

Full time position 6:00am - 2:00pm, four shifts per week, plus 2:00pm - 10:00, one shift per week, including weekends.
