Primary Responsibilities
- Lead quarterly reserve process, including preparation of reserves documentation (internal and third-party).
- Conduct routine well and field performance evaluations. Proficient in rate-transient analysis, decline curve analysis (Arps and other models), and material balance.
- Identify underperforming wells and recommend optimization strategies (workovers, refracs, stimulation, artificial lift changes, etc.).
- Maintain monitoring of reservoir pressure, fluid behavior, and production trends to diagnose constraints.
- Build and maintain production forecasts for reserves and budget.
- Evaluate field development scenarios using decline forecasts, reservoir simulation, analog analysis, or probabilistic tools.
- Generate well-spacing, development phasing, and completion design recommendations using engineering and geologic inputs.
- Participate in capital planning and portfolio prioritization.
- Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and operations teams to create integrated reservoir models.
- Contribute engineering perspectives to cross-disciplinary teams on reservoir characterization, well design, and development strategy.
- Work with planning and finance teams to evaluate project economics using production forecasts and cost data.
- Assess opportunities such as infill drilling, recompletions, refracs, and enhanced recovery.
- Strong data-handling skills and ability to work with large production datasets.
- Up to date with industry best practices and recommend innovative new strategies
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering within upstream oil and gas.
- Experience leading reserves process in accordance with SEC and/or SPE-PRMS standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in production forecasting and reservoir performance evaluation.
- Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear, actionable recommendations.
- Experience with unconventional resource plays
- P Permian Basin experience preferred
- Knowledge of completions, geomechanics, and artificial lift systems.

Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated pay range: $165,000 – $215,000 (depending upon experience of the successful candidate)
