About the role
California Builder Services is seeking a Reserve Study Assistant to join our team in Clovis, California. This position combines analytical work, construction knowledge, project management, client communication, and on-site property inspections.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans, maps, financial documents, and governing documents
- Aid with project proposals and bids
- Conduct scheduled property inspections throughout California
- Take measurements, photographs, and component inventories
- Document the condition and quantity of building and site components
- Research materials, maintenance needs, replacement costs, and useful-life estimates
- Enter inspection findings and financial information into reserve study software
- Aid with long-term financial projections
- Read and interpret homeowner association financial statements
- Prepare, review, and distribute reserve study reports
- Communicate with clients, property managers, vendors, and internal team members
- Coordinate scheduling, follow-ups, document collection, and deadlines
- Maintain organized electronic project files
- Independently manage a caseload of projects
- Collaborate with our Reserve Study, Budget, and DRE departments
Qualifications
- Strong mathematical, financial, and analytical skills
- An interest in construction, real estate, or property maintenance
- The ability to understand plans, maps, spreadsheets, and financial information
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A professional and client-focused communication style
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Sound judgment and a problem-solving mindset
- A willingness to learn and accept feedback
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer systems
- Experience with Bluebeam, construction estimating, property inspections, financial statements, homeowner associations, or residential real estate is preferred but not required
