Key Responsibilities

• Aid full-time officers in patrolling and responding to incidents.
• Communicate with citizens informally about local laws and provide assistance.
• Conduct security checks and respond to emergencies.
• Use physical force as necessary to subdue suspects.
• Question and interview individuals involved in incidents.
• Write detailed incident reports.
• Maintain departmental equipment and facilities.
• Communicate with the public, courts, and other officials.
• Attend training programs to enhance job knowledge.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 21 years old.
• A valid Missouri driver's license.
• Missouri POST certification required upon employment.
• Pass a physical and psychological exam.
• Valid, Level 2 ballistic vest.
• Weapon qualification required.

Qualifications

• 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university preferred.
• 2 years of federal active-duty military service with an honorable discharge preferred.
• 2 years of full-time POST certified peace officer experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced levels of education.
• No violations, summonses, or arrests on driving record.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $25.00 per hour. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
