About the role
The Reserve Officer Program provides individuals with an opportunity to serve their community while gaining valuable law enforcement experience. Reserve Officers assist full-time officers with patrol operations, community events, crime prevention programs, traffic control, prisoner transports, court security, and other public safety functions.
Responsibilities
- Assist full-time officers with patrol operations
- Participate in community events
- Engage in crime prevention programs
- Control traffic
- Transport prisoners
- Provide court security
- Attend monthly training meetings
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid Oregon driver's license
- Pass a background investigation and psychological evaluation
- Successfully complete the National Police Officer Selection Test (POST)
- Pass the Oregon Physical Abilities Test (ORPAT) with a time of 6:20 or less
- Complete the Mid-Valley Reserve Training Academy (MVRT)
- Volunteer a minimum of 25 hours per month
