Qualifications
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be a Colorado POST Certified Officer.
Must have a Valid driver's license.
Must meet criteria established by P.O.S.T. if you are a Non-United States Citizens.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must not have used any illegal drugs in the past 5 years.
Must not have been discontinued from any part of the Background process for any Adams County Sheriff's Office positions in the last 12 months.
Must possess an active Colorado POST certification.
Must have Patrol, Detention, or Detective experience.
Must have served as a POST Certified law enforcement role for a minimum of 1 year.
Duties
Be on-call in the event of a major emergency.
Qualify with firearms quarterly and meet annual training requirements.
Attend special training classes.
Maintain minimum Colorado POST training hours.
Establish traffic control at fires or other incidents that may attract crowds.
Absorb control at traffic crashes to maintain traffic flow, and assist accident victims.
Locate and take persons into custody on arrest warrants.
Prepare variety of related case, complaint, and activity reports.
Perform Deputy duties at parades, processions, demonstrations, community activities, and sporting events.
Work one shift per month in any division of the sheriff’s office.
