About the role

Study oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV), including key translational and fundamental aspects in relation to the development of HPV-associated malignancies.

  • Develop assays to assess bio-specimens for HPV viability and transmissibility, including additional applications for such assays.
  • Conduct fundamental research on the molecular genetics of HPV in relation to induction of malignancy and factors relating to conversion from latent infection in epithelial and lymphoid tissues to frank malignancy.
  • Investigate oncogenic HPV infection in HIV-infected hosts and the unique factors relating to development of HPV-associated malignancies in this setting.

Requirements

  • Strong molecular virology training and experience.
  • Background in engineering of virologic test systems and viral culture is advantageous.
  • Focus on cancer biology and analysis of bio-specimens.
