About the Role
We are seeking a Research Scientist III to study oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV), focusing on both translational and fundamental aspects related to the development of HPV-associated malignancies.
Responsibilities
- Develop assays to assess bio-specimens for HPV viability and transmissibility, including additional applications for such assays.
- Conduct fundamental research on the molecular genetics of HPV in relation to malignancy induction and factors influencing the transition from latent infection in epithelial and lymphoid tissues to frank malignancy.
- Investigate oncogenic HPV infection in HIV-infected hosts, examining unique factors contributing to HPV-associated malignancies in this context.
Requirements
- Strong training and experience in molecular virology.
- Background in engineering virologic test systems and viral culture is advantageous.
- Focus on cancer biology and analysis of bio-specimens.
