Research Track: Research Professor

About the Role

The Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking applications for one full-time Research Professor (non-tenure track) for a 9-month appointment to work in the area of bioinorganic chemistry, with a specific focus on radical SAM enzymes, radical SAM mechanisms, and hydrogenases and their maturation. This position has an anticipated start date of Fall 2026.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the PI as well as other faculty at TAMU and other institutions to develop and advance scientific objectives
• Engage in research development, including preparation of proposals for research funding
• Disseminate research through written and oral presentations
• Collaborate on the acquisition of funding to support research
• Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral student fellows, visiting scholars and research staff

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry
• 20 years of research experience
