Join the Craig Thompson Lab as a Research Technician! The Thompson Lab is focused on understanding the fundamental mechanisms that regulate cell survival and how these processes contribute to cancer development. The lab studies how cells acquire and utilize nutrients, with a particular interest in the role that nutrient uptake plays in maintaining normal cellular function and preventing transformation. Through this work, the team aims to uncover the biological principles that govern multicellular life and identify new insights into the origins of disease.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
• Handle lab supply ordering and inventory management.
• Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, cell separation, and molecular biology techniques.
• Prepare samples for mass spectrometry and microscopy.
• Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
• Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Proven basic laboratory skills and the ability to handle diverse tasks in a research setting.

• Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.
• Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.
• Team-oriented approach to supporting postdocs and fellow researchers.

Pay

Pay Range: $26.77 - $40.05 per hour

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
