Research Technician II - Department of Surgery (Part-Time)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform Experiments
• Set up research experiments and tests according to defined protocols.
• Seek guidance from the Principal Investigator and other lab members as needed.
• Become familiar with study, applicable background research, laboratory protocols and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with lab procedures, protocols, and quality control.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot scientific apparatuses, equipment and instruments specific to assignment.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain lab equipment.

Data Collection And Analysis

• Assist with research sample collection and specimen preparation.
• Maintain logs, records, notes, data, and spreadsheets to document the results of experiments.
• Facilitate data analysis.

Administrative Support

• Provide administrative support to research projects (ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, scanning, photocopying, labeling, filing, record keeping, etc.).
• Participate in lab meetings and other scientific discussions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
