Responsibilities
- Assists and performs experiments procedures involving brain EEG recording.
- Assists with neuroscience EEG analysis studies.
- Assists with performing technical operations relevant to specialized electrodes and EEG tools.
- Assists personnel involved in a series of stereology and histology studies.
- Assists and performs pharmacological studies and data compilation in the lab.
- Makes and records of behavioral observations and EEG recording traces.
- Uses computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data.
- Assists senior staff members in conducting major field experiments and consults in developing procedures.
- Assists with the maintaining records on research experiments.
- Assists undergraduate and graduate students with their research projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or biomedical sciences or neuroscience preferred.
- Working experience in a neuroscience EEG research lab.
- Knowledge of advanced brain EEG software.
- Experimental neural techniques and analysis.
- Behavioral studies and interpretation.
- Stereology and histology knowledge.
- Pharmacological studies and data compilation experience in a research lab.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
- Experience working with individuals and communities.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret brain EEG recording, analysis, and pattern formations.
- Ability to organize, conduct, and report pharmacological studies and experiments.
- Experience working with EEG studies, data compilation, and analysis.
- Ability to read temporo-spatial progression of seizures, and behavioral patterns.
- Ability to help research staff with advancing experimental studies and support with the neural techniques.
Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment.
- Ensure attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
