Research Technician I - FT

Full-time, benefits-eligible position located at Carolinas Medical Center - Morehead in the Hematology/Oncology Research Lab.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some flexibility
• 40 hours per week

Pay

Pay range: $21.85 - $32.80 per hour

Responsibilities

• Conducts technical laboratory procedures
• Records experimental observations
• Assists in monitoring research laboratory inventory and equipment, taking appropriate actions
• Assists in maintaining the storage of research data
• Assists in organizing and coordinating the daily and weekly schedule of procedures
• Operates all equipment and devices necessary for research procedures
• Assists in maintaining the physical environment of the lab
• Prepares chemical solutions as required for research projects
• Searches library files for articles and abstracts related to various projects
• Supports physicians and medical staff during human clinical investigations in cardiac catheterization laboratory and operating rooms
• Provides technical support for primary research investigators and conducts technical research procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's of Science Degree required or equivalent in experience
• 1 year of experience in research, rehabilitation, hospital, or therapy required
• Nursing assistant experience preferred
• Hands-on laboratory experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Work in a fast-paced office/laboratory environment
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
