About the role
The Stoddard lab at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking to hire a full-time Research Technician I. The position involves routine DNA work (subcloning, sequencing, amplification), protein expression and purification, and subsequent characterization of protein behavior and function using various biophysical techniques. Responsibilities also include routine laboratory maintenance and upkeep, attending laboratory meetings and selected seminars, and regular meetings with the laboratory PI and staff.
Responsibilities
- Routine DNA work (subcloning, sequencing, amplification)
- Protein expression and purification
- Characterization of protein behavior and function using biophysical techniques
- Routine laboratory maintenance and upkeep
- Attendance at laboratory meetings and selected seminars
- Regular meetings with the laboratory PI and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated scientific knowledge in the area of study
- Demonstrated basic laboratory skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous undergraduate classes in organic chemistry, biochemistry and biophysics
- Laboratory training and instruction in biochemistry or molecular biology
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is from $23.33 to $33.21, with pay offered based on experience and qualifications.
