Research Technician I

About the Role

The Research Technician I supports a laboratory focused on social insects, primarily ants, by managing ant colony husbandry, laboratory operations, and research assistance within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and monitor ant colonies, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and storage management.
• Assist with research projects related to behavioral tracking, genome engineering, and other scientific investigations.
• Support laboratory operations by organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring efficient workflows.
• Participate in lab meetings, scientific discussions, and collaborative efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Interest in working with insects, animal husbandry, and supporting scientific research.
• Ability to perform routine operational tasks reliably and independently.
