Overseeing

• Oversee the integration of microbiome sequencing outputs with longitudinal clinical, laboratory, medication, and healthcare utilization data extracted from the VA Corporate Data Warehouse
• Design detailed statistical analysis plans, including specifications for modeling strategies, confounder selection, sensitivity analyses, and handling of missing or irregularly sampled data
• Conduct and interpret multivariable, ecological, and multilevel models that link microbiome features to patient clinical trajectories, healthcare utilization patterns, and facility-level characteristics
• Generate figures, tables, and analytic summaries that clearly communicate findings to investigative teams and inform ongoing study decisions
• Document all analytic workflows, maintain reproducible code, and implement quality control procedures to ensure the robustness and transparency of all results
• Collaborate closely with investigators to draft analytic methods and results sections for manuscripts, progress reports, and presentations
• Support the development of future grant proposals by advising on study design, feasibility considerations, and methods for extending the analyses initiated in research projects

Physical Requirements

• The work is predominantly sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there will be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of items of moderate weight such as large binders, banker style file boxes, meeting materials, papers, books or small parts. Hand and eye coordination for delicate testing procedures may be the only special physical demand required to perform the work.
