Research Specialist Senior
About the role
This exciting opportunity focuses on investigating signaling pathways and protein-protein interaction experiments in mammalian skeletal muscle cells. The successful candidate will perform molecular and cellular biology experiments, maintain cell cultures, analyze and interpret research data, and contribute to innovative projects aimed at advancing our understanding of muscle biology. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative research environment while developing expertise in a variety of laboratory techniques.
Responsibilities
- Investigate signaling pathways and protein-protein interaction experiments in mammalian skeletal muscle cells
- Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments
- Maintain cell cultures
- Analyze and interpret research data
- Contribute to innovative projects aimed at advancing our understanding of muscle biology
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field and more than two years of laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology, including sterile technique, PCR, bacterial culture and purification, and gel-based assays
- Experience with site-directed mutagenesis, protein purification, viral transduction, and computational analysis of protein conformations and protein-protein interactions
- Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and computer skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 10:00AM to 5:00PM or as negotiated
Pay
$26.00 to $32.00 per hour, working 30 hours per week
