Research Specialist B
About the role
The Research Specialist B provides technical and operational support for research initiatives within the Institute for RNA Innovation. The position is responsible for executing laboratory experiments, generating and analyzing scientific data, and supporting the development and optimization of RNA and lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technologies. The individual collaborates closely with faculty investigators, research staff, and trainees to advance sponsored research objectives while ensuring compliance with established laboratory, safety, and regulatory standards. The role also contributes to laboratory operations through maintenance of equipment and inventories, preparation of research materials, and support of animal and in vitro studies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and QC RNA and LNPs.
- Assist in animal experiments and in vitro experiments.
- Train and supervise other lab members as needed, provide scientific and technical expertise and guidance for other ongoing projects.
- Participate in lab management and help support lab set up and operations, oversee ordering, organization and maintenance of reagents, equipment, and protocols.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Skills
- Strong laboratory skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety and regulatory standards.

Pay
$50,875.00 - $57,335.40 Annual Rate
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
