Research Specialist A (Department of Gastroenterology)

Responsibilities

• Lab management: Ordering reagents and materials as needed for the lab, interaction with regulatory groups at Penn including EHRS, maintaining lab inventories (ie reagents, cell lines, etc)
• Research in mice: Animal husbandry, breeding, genotyping, injection, as well as tissue processing including isolation and embedding of mouse organs/tumors for sectioning and staining.
• Processing of human biosamples obtained from clinical studies as well as use of these samples for experiments including organoid generation, immunohistochemistry, etc.
• Research in organoids: Initiation, propagation, genetic manipulation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Science/healthcare and/or public health/public policy background is preferred.
