Job Post Summary Our Client is seeking a Research Software Engineer to support advanced research and development initiatives focused on rapid prototyping, algorithm development, and technical problem solving. This role works closely with senior technical leadership to transform complex concepts into working software prototypes. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering and enjoys solving challenging technical problems in a collaborative research environment. Job Roles and Responsibilities Develop research oriented software prototypes using Python and/or C++.Collaborate with senior technical leadership on algorithm design, mathematical modeling, and technical problem solving.Participate in technical design discussions and whiteboard sessions.Build proof of concept software to evaluate new technologies and research concepts.Contribute to research and development efforts involving machine learning, data analysis, and high performance computing.Work in Linux based development environments using Git for version control.Analyze complex technical challenges and develop innovative software solutions.Communicate technical findings and recommendations with engineering leadership.Support rapid experimentation and iterative software development in a research focused environment. Qualifications And Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field.Three to five years of software engineering or research and development experience.Strong programming experience in Python or C++.Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem solving abilities.Experience with rapid prototyping and research driven software development.Proficiency with Linux and Git.U.S. Citizenship required.Ability to commute to the Minneapolis area for a hybrid work schedule.Experience with machine learning, signal processing, scientific computing, high performance computing, or Mathematica is preferred.
