Research Services Intermediate Professional
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize various laboratory techniques to perform experiments, including biomolecule extraction and the preparation of complex biological samples for mass spectrometry.
- Data Analysis & Bioinformatics: Acquire and analyze proteomics data using statistical methods, bioinformatics, and data analysis software to evaluate research results.
- Instrumentation & Quality Control: Manage the maintenance and quality control of technical analytical equipment, including preparing buffers and internal standard solutions.
- Collaboration & Presentation: Meet with faculty, students, and researchers to present technical results through both oral and written reports.
- Laboratory Operations: Ensure the lab is prepared for daily operations by ordering supplies, maintaining instruments, software, and computers, and ensuring compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain rigorous laboratory research records of all experiments performed, including the management of data archives and research notebooks to be used for publications.
- Protocol Development: Assist in generating written protocols and developing recommendations to resolve process or unit issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
- One (1) year professional level research experience.
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field preferred.
