Research Scientist, Purification

Adesis Inc. is a subsidiary of Universal Display Corporation (Nasdaq: OLED), a global leader in organic light emitting diodes. Within our OLED Chemistry organization, we engage in research and development of new materials for use in the fabrication of OLED devices leading to the next generation of OLED displays. Our R&D footprint encompasses almost 100,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratory and manufacturing space in New Castle and Wilmington, DE, centrally located in the Mid-Atlantic biotech/pharmaceutical hub.

About the role

We are seeking an extraordinary scientist to join our multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers working on fast-paced and innovative OLED research programs that will impact the next generation of consumer electronics.

Responsibilities

• Purify reaction products using SFC, HPLC (Reverse and normal phase), Recrystallization and Trituration
• Characterize compounds using standard analytical methods, such as HPLC/MS, NMR, GC/MS
• Contribute to the expansion of team capabilities by identifying and evaluating new technologies, techniques, and stationary phases
• Work well with other team members and independently
• Maintain purification instrumentation including LCMS and Prep HPLC systems
• Maintain accurate and thorough chemistry notebook(s)
• Effectively communicate orally and in writing with peers and management
• Perform and succeed in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Demonstrate accurate and thorough record keeping
• Work and learn in a fast-paced research environment
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related field
• Industry or Post-doctoral experience (1-2 years) is preferred
• Experience with HPLC and prep-HPLC instrumentation is required
• Experience working with OLED molecules is preferable
• Experience with prep/process scale HPLC/SFC purification is preferable

Pay

Annual compensation range: $100,000–$115,000. At Adesis Inc., base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the annual salary range only, and does not include bonus, equity, or sales incentives, if applicable.
