About the role

The Nutrition Product Development team is a cross-functional team comprised of formulation, process engineering, package engineering, and nutrition investigations. This team's work focuses on innovation and delivery of new products for our global nutrition portfolios that will engage our Amway Business Owners (ABO’s) and attract global consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate scientific research to support the Nutrilite global product portfolios and provide scientific credibility to differentiate Nutrilite products from competitors.
  • Work on front end research, helping to identify relevant mechanisms of action and outcomes.
  • Partner with internal teams and external partners to advance ingredients and product technologies from front-end through commercialization and the product’s life cycle.
  • Develop protocols, identify the appropriate CRO or academic partner, and oversee study execution and results analysis.
  • Partner with Marketing and Regulatory staff to translate the study results into consumer-friendly and regulatorily acceptable claims and stories which support the efficacy of our products.
  • Support the scientific credibility of the Nutrilite brand and offer internal and external visibility, providing patent and publication opportunities.
  • Travel globally to meet Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and share expert insights about Nutrilite products, nutrition, and health.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Nutritional Science or advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline with established experience in nutrition research.
  • Minimum 2 - 4 years background in scientific research, methods, analysis and data interpretation and publication.
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and inspire both internal and external audiences.

Qualifications

  • Ability to translate complex scientific and technical concepts into consumer appropriate language, to enable communication and understanding of the science underlying the product (research that supports nutrition and health outcomes).
  • Experience leading clinical studies in an industry setting is helpful.
  • Background in successful grant applications helpful.
  • Industry awareness with knowledge of trends and innovation desired.
  • ACRP (Association of Clinical Research Professionals) Certification, RD (Registered Dietician) Certification, or naturopathic background helpful.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance.
