Job Overview
The UC College of Medicine seeks a Research Scientist to join the laboratory of Dr. Yu (Agnes) Luo in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences. The successful candidate will participate in research projects, assist with grant proposals, and manage staff.
Responsibilities
- Modify and adapt experimental protocols, techniques, and procedures to specific project requirements.
- Design, coordinate, and conduct experimental procedures.
- Data analysis: Prepare research results and written summaries of results in manuscript form for publications and in graphics form for presentations at research meetings and for grant proposals.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory protocols and records.
- Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Additional related work experience may be required depending on the field or discipline.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead projects and work cooperatively with others, as well as communicate research results effectively.
