Job Summary/Purpose

Supports research and analytic projects across Samaritan Health Services. Collaborates closely with a variety of internal and external partners to lead projects and provide technical expertise related to study design, data analysis, and scientific writing. Promotes a system-wide culture of research and supports Samaritan's growth as a learning health system.

Department Description

The Office of Academic Affairs provides leadership for Samaritan Health Services academic departments including post-graduate training programs, continuing medical education and library services; and works in collaboration with those supporting the educational needs of our medical staff. The office is responsible for academic strategic planning, faculty recruitment and development, course evaluation, academic budget planning and management, development and implementation of academic policies and assessment of educational resources.

Experience/Education/Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a health-related social science field required; PhD preferred
  • Three (3) years of experience with grant writing or analytic project management required
  • Experience in the healthcare industry and/or analyzing electronic health records preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Ability to operate applications, write software, set up functions, enter data, and manipulate and process information
  • Communication - Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues. Ability to perform group presentations and listen to and understand complex information and ideas
  • Problem Solving - Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Time Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure
  • Service Orientation - Successfully apply knowledge of various resources/models of recovery to assist and care for others
