About the role
Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Research Scientist to study the role of estrogen receptor regulation of innate immunity in the urinary tract infection (UTI) pathogenesis.
Responsibilities
- Utilize molecular and immunological approaches to understand the significance of membrane and nuclear estrogen receptor signaling in regulation of inflammation in the bladder and kidney during initiation of UTI.
- Design and perform experiments independently with appropriate but minimal supervision.
- Perform research, data analysis, write, Lab research protocols (SOP), write manuscripts, and present findings at the local and national meetings.
- Closely work with students in the lab.
Requirements
- Hold a MS with at least two year research experience /Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences.
- Prior experience in flow cytometry including sorting and data analysis, cell culture, bioinformatics and confocal microscopy would be a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
- Master's(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- A minimum of two (2) years relevant work experience
Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
- The candidates must be able to design and perform experiments independently with appropriate but minimal supervision.
