About the role

This is a temporary contract position that provides research support to the Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Research team as project needs arise. The Research team conducts observational, qualitative, and mixed-methods research to improve outcomes for people with type 1 diabetes (T1D), leveraging real-world data (RWD) from the T1D Exchange Quality Improvement Collaborative and the T1D Exchange Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute research projects from hypothesis generation through dissemination, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods studies.
  • Conduct background research, including literature reviews, and client/study sponsor discussions, to inform study design and research objectives.
  • Develop study materials, including research protocols, informed consent documents, survey instruments, data collection tools, and other study-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement observational research studies using real-world data (RWD) and survey methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and oversee participant recruitment, qualitative and quantitative data collection, data management, and study tracking, as applicable.
  • Conduct or support quantitative and qualitative data analysis and interpret study findings.
  • Prepare and present research plans, interim updates, and study findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft, edit, and contribute to scientific deliverables, including abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts, study reports, and other publication-ready materials.
  • Cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with investigators, sponsors, research partners, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices in observational and patient-centered research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Perform other research-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in public health, epidemiology, health services research, psychology, sociology, or a related health or social science field.
  • Two or more years of experience conducting observational, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods research.
  • Experience developing and executing research studies, including literature reviews, study protocols, informed consent documents, survey design, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific dissemination.
  • Knowledge of human subjects research regulations, including IRB processes.
  • Strong scientific writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with research sponsors, healthcare organizations, or the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Experience in diabetes research and patient reported outcomes is preferred.

Compensation

Between $70 and $90 per hour based on experience.
