Research Scientist

We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our Biotechnology Team in Huntsville, AL, contributing to our mission in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control markets.

Responsibilities

• Support projects developing and exploiting new technologies
• Execute multiple proof-of-concept type projects in quick succession
• Develop research efforts to secure funding through follow-on proposals to the Government and private funding sources
• Participate in the evaluation of technologies for product generation
• Work in a team known for pushing the boundaries of biotechnology across various problem spaces

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field such as Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• High degree of technical competence in one or more of the following areas: Electrical engineering, Software development (Python/C++, C), Machine learning, Mechanical engineering, Materials Science
• Ability to quickly understand, apply, and adapt challenging technical concepts
• Strong intellectual curiosity
• Self-directed work ethic

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Previous experience as a published author in academic literature preferred
• Experience working in a startup environment
• Aptitude for building tangible products
• Demonstrated history of effective collaboration
• Experience in business development, bid and proposal, and commercialization
• Ability to identify and parse relevant papers from academic literature
• Experience working in proof-of-concept experiments

Pay

Annual Salary Range: $56,200 - $108,600
